Steal the Spotlight: How did Escape
The Fate form?
Max: I had a vision and I was sick and
tired of all these shitty bands in Vegas. I didn’t like the scene there and where music was going and I wanted to do
something different. I held auditions and I wanted a certain style and image. I picked out each member individually and played
with them for a little bit and if I didn’t like them I moved on. I literally called the best players in Vegas and picked
the best players for Escape The Fate.
STS: How pumped are you for the new
album coming out on November 2nd?
Max: I’m extremely excited because
I feel like this album is like my original vision come to life. This album is my vision come to life: it describes what
I wanted from the very beginning so I’m fuckin’ stoked on life.
STS: What big plans surrounding the release of it?
Max: We have a headlining tour planned
and we’re also doing in-store signing events at Zia Records in Vegas since that’s
where we’re from and we’re also dropping a music video for our new single “Issues” which is gonna
be awesome.
STS: What can we expect from the rest
of the album? We’ve heard “Massacre” and “Issues,” so can we imagine only more greatness?
Max: The album takes you on a roller
coaster. It flows greatly, brings you down into a deep dark hole, but also pumps you up, makes you feel things, just
brings emotion out of you.
STS: How are you enjoying the tour with
Bullet For My Valentine?
Max: It’s going great and all the bands are getting along. We got to hang out with Bullet
For My Valentine a few times - they’re nice and respectful and we’ve learned a lot about being professional and
still having fun. That’s the truth and it’s rad.
STS: What touring plans does Escape
The Fate have after this run?
Max: We’re gonna go to Europe with Bullet, we’re playing a show in Vegas for our album
release and planning a headlining tour to support the new album. We’re also going on a press tour where we go to radio
stations that have been nice and supported our new single and just talk to everyone and have a good time.
STS: What’s in your CD player
or iPod right now?
Max: The new Ozzie record.
STS: What bands melted you face off
during your youth?
Max: NIN, Marilyn Manson, Metallica,
Nirvana.
STS: If you can share the stage with
anyone ever….who would it be and why?
Max: Rx Bandits, Nirvana, Marilyn Manson during Mechanical
Animals or The Golden Age of Grotesque era.
STS: Do you have any favorite things
to do while here in Cleveland?
Max: I like to go to Gold Star and get chili dogs.
STS: What were you doing before you
sat down for this?
Max: I was at GameStop
and I was walking back in the rain.
