Evans Blue hits the music seen once again with a brand new album. It features the same type of title, as in a long one. It also features the same deep meaningful lyrics that tell stories though the entire album. Those lyrics are the foundation of both albums. Matisyn, the vocals and main lyric writer of the band, says “The real pursuit of happiness and meaning can only begin when you let the fake parts of your life die.” “It was different in that we knew more of what we wanted to sound like – a little more aggressive when needed and a little prettier when needed.  Lyrically it is darker and is about how sometimes you have to fall to your lowest point before you can see what you're climbing towards.” This is true, the lyrical content of this album is darker, but with the addition of the instruments it makes a story that no one can ignore. The album starts of with “In a Red Dress and Alone.” This is a loud song with low vocals, but has an awesome chorus. The third song, “Q,” is a very popish song but it has potential to become something solid. “Kiss the Flag,” is a slower, deep hard sole hitting song, with vocals that come from deep within. My Demsel:… is a solid hard rock tune. It offers a hard, fast beginning with a nice little scream. It is a tad long, but that doesn’t tack much away from it. “Pin-up,” the sixth track, is a slower, softer song that leaves you speechless as you listen to the vocals. As I listen to it I couldn’t even take notes it was that moving. The final track on the album is “The Pursuit.” It serves up a great dose of guitar and drums, the vocals are solid and the lyrics are really in-depth. It is a really solid album that will help continue Evans Blue’s pursuit of rock and roll success. This makes two solid albums and I personally can’t wait until the next one.
