Bright lights, big shows, and all the teasing in world, that’s what Vegas is known for right? Well after releasing a teaser sampler “Your Vegas” as placed out their full length album. The band forming over seas in the U.K. in 2005 has placed out 2 EP as well as this new LP. Moving over from the U.K. to New York the band has quickly gained fans throughout the world and plan to tour around North America in the coming years. The album begins with “It Makes My Heart Break” a track that is upbeat and offers added sounds other than the normal. Next is the very catchy tune that I believe will still be a great coffee shop track “In My Head.” “Birds of Paradise” is another upbeat catchy track that will lyrical devour your mind. “Aurora” adds in effects that catch your attention. Then the music and the vocals keep you listening. “Troubled Times” starts off with just vocals and a guitar. It is a soft track with deep meaning. “The Way the War Was Won” displays more keys than the last track. The song could defiantly be featured in a rained filled love part in a movie, like the part of the movie where a solider comes home and sees his wife outside for the first time in 3 years or so years. The title track comes up next. “Your Vegas” hits you with a hard pop sound with an upbeat tempo and echoing vocals. “I Wish You Were Somewhere Else” is another upbeat track that reminds me of a Silversun Pickups or something along those lines. The album ends with “Salvador” a very passionate and emotion track. Overall this album doesn’t do it for me. For me I’d like to hear a rockier side of them and less pop/coffee shop side. It will have its fans, but it just lacks that standout feature. Most of the songs have the same feel to them. There are a couple bright spots and if they can focus on those and grow from them their sophomore effort should be better.
