Victory Pill
Victory Pill
Jim Davies
– Guitars, Vocals, Programming
Kieron Pepper: Bass, backing vocals, programming, production
Pete Crossman: Production, live synths/beats
Alex Baker: Live drums
The industrial rock
of Victory Pill’s debut album is an assault on the listener’s ears. The band displays a sound musical cleverness
in organizing such a diverse sound. The raging guitars, beats, synths, and programming all crammed into one is amazingly done.
The mixing involved had to be the hardest part of putting this all together. The album begins with the track “Downfall”
which quick displays the way that the band intends to go with their music. “Another Clone” is an amazing track
that shows the visions that Davies has, the guitar riffs are great and you really get into the track. “Odds Get Even,”
and even the “Red Pill” shows the unique ability of the band. The guitar work and the production by Crossman hand
in hand and compliment each other perfectly. Overall, the album shows the bands ability of putting together and attractive,
but brash album. Although this is not my style of music I have to give them props for the effort on this album. With all the
programming on the album it had to have taken a great deal of effort and skill to put all the pieces into place.
