This Minnesota band began back in 2003 when they recorded some demos and a three song EP. Years later a lead man change came and so did another EP, this time a 4 track album. While they were recording it their fans gave them a huge shout out by naming them one of AP’s top ten 2006 unsigned bands.  After another year or so of touring a second lead man switch came as James Clark stepped in. A spot on the 2007 Vans Warp Tour followed and so did a couple of shows on the 2008 Taste of Chaos tour. In Pursuit of Tomorrow was also release in 2008 and they followed it up with dates with Drowning Pool. The album begins blazing with the track “Ready for War.” The up tempo style of the track should get listeners going and they don’t let that pace up for a bit. It’s a track that sounds sweet on an album, but begs to be unleashed in massive stereo equipment and a live stage. “Weakest Hour” displays some killer guitars and melodic vocals. It’s a track you can love very quickly as it also adds in some screams throughout the track to spice it up a bit. Normally I’m not a fan of screaming, but they are perfectly place in this song. “His Blood, My Hands,” is a good track, but I’m afraid that it sounds too much like some others from other bands. It does have pounding drums and clear vocals, but I don’t believe it will impact the airwaves very much. Next is the intro to “The Wreckage.” It is a weird way to intro a song in the middle of an album like that and not the beginning of the album. All it seemed to be was wind-blowing or a storm blowing in. “The Wreckage” itself begins with a high energy guitar and drums. It is a great piece of writing and everything flows perfectly with each other. It has more clear vocals which drives the track for the most part. I can’t wait to hear this track live! “Stop Yourself” begins the second half of the album with a guitar orientated kiss ass rock track while the lyrics talk about a woman and liquor. The telling her to stop being yourself and calm down with “Delete Me” sounding sort of the same music wise step up the drums as you hear more cymbals then the rest of the tracks. “Into the Fire” which is only the third track that eclipses the 4 minute mark is another up tempo, fast pace track. The song does offer more screaming than most of the others, but they are woven throughout the clear vocals. “It’s For You” is a slower track that pays close attention to clear vocals and great songwriting. It, although is out character considering the rest of the album, is something that they can grow on and enhance the rest of the album as well. They show their talent and diversity with the track. The album ends with “Vital Signs” is a good ending to a pretty good album. It like the bulk of the album features clear vocals and good writing. The addition of the screams in spots are good, but I think they over do them a little in this case. Overall this is a pretty good album. They do have growing to do, but the writing is there. I’m still not sold on the idea of the intro to a song in the middle of an album as I think its more suitable for the beginning an album. I still going to watch this band and see what happens with them. I hear great things in the near future for them.
