The San Francisco Bay Area quintet is the one of the newest Wind-up Record releases. The band, which formed a few years ago while members were attending college in the area, releases their debut album. The band’s music has been described as: “music that touches on the haunting presence of ghosts and angels, as well as life, love, relationships and the universal search for meaning in these uncertain times.” The album begins with the track “Runaway.” The track is filled with an upbeat sound and crisp clear vocals. The keys during the track lay a perfect path for the drums and guitar to follow. Next on the album is the first single “Angels on the Moon.” The track is much like the pervious as the keys are the driving force for much of the track until the guitar solo and then the drum pick up a bit. “Hey Lady” begins with Scott working his magic then enters Clayton’s vocals. It’s on of the best tracks on the album which should find its way onto the air waves sooner or later. “Twilight” the shortest affair on the album spins off 5th. The track offers up more crystal clear vocals and driving keys, but is a bit more upbeat in the drum category. It tells a great story as it progresses through the song. “Secret Life” is a very catchy track that is hard to ignore. The 4+ minutes of the track time well spent and it reminds me of a movie track. “Overrated” is another super catchy track that fans will love. It has that live feel to it. “Unhappy” is another track that is driven by the keys as “Light Up Mississippi” is laid with catchy music by the other instruments and set off by Clayton’s vocals. The album ends with “Day of Rain.” The track is an okay ending to the album. It is begins in a mystical, dark way, but quickly warms up with vocals and keys. Overall this isn’t my cup of tea, but it is solid as an album. The lyrics/songwriting is great. Everything is well written and placed throughout the tracks. They defiantly have their sound down and they know how they are. I can see them being around for a while with tracks in movies.
