The pop rock band from Oklahoma is back once again with a new album. after releasing their debut self-titled album in 2002 featuring “Swing Swing” the track that moved them into the mainstream spotlight, they came back in 2005 with a follow-up. The follow-up titled, Move Along, blistered the radio with 3 top 20 songs to of which slide their way in the top 10.  “Dirty Little Secret” went to #4 and #5 on to charts as the third single “It Ends Tonight” reached #7 and #8 on those same 2 charts. If that wasn’t enough, appearances and awards followed soon after. Now with all that success under their belts they release their third album When the World Comes Down in hopes that they can continue down the same path. With two single already streaming and the lead single going to #19 on the Top 100 it seems likely they can stroll down the path and light the airwaves on fire. The album begins with “I Wanna,” a very catchy way to grab the listener’s attention right off the bat. It’s an upbeat offering with fast guitar work and a steady drum beat. It would defiantly be a great way to start a segment of a show.  “Fallin’ Apart” is a quirky pop track that gives a chorus in the background, a little drummer boy drum beat in parts and a wired look on your face while you listen. It jumps around a lot and in this case that’s not a good thing. “Damn Girl” spins off third and gave me a couple of angles that the song could go just by the title. It begins with some bongo drums but they quickly add in a sly guitar that blends perfectly. Once the track kicks it up a notch it’s clear that the radio will fall madly in love with the tune, but there are a few awkward moments during the song that hurts your ears a bit. “Gives You Hell,” the lead single, is another quirky track that would fit perfectly in the Warp Tour scene next season. The extra instruments that they add in as well as the effects on the others give the track a cool sound. The second single “Mona Lisa (When the World Comes Down)” begins with a sweet acoustic guitar and mixes some keys as the ballad moves on. I’m not sure how the fan base will grab a hold of the track, but after a few times it starts to grow on you. “Breakin’” is a very catchy track that slaps you a few times on its way through. The track can go straight from the record to the stage and will get a lot of vibes going to the Warp Tour crowd. “Another Heart Calls” enters the 4 minute mark as it features the first duet the band does bringing in The Pierces for the tune. It is well done for rookies and the stellar result from it tells me that they will do a few more before its all said and done. “Real World” is defiantly a Warp Tour track, if it takes off with the fans which it should as it takes off like a rocket during the chorus. The guitars and drums play is excellent during the entire track as the vocals are very clear as much as they jam during it. “Back to Me” is a soft sweet tune that is talking about finding your back to that special one. “Believe” gets back to the fast tempo pop that will get the fans fired up. It’s a catchy track that has a great balance of music between the guitars and drums while the vocals are pretty clear so you can go right along with the band. “The Wind Blows” is really a cool track/ it not a typical track that I would listen to, but its a hidden gem on the album. It offers a soft and gentle sound flowing with the vocals of lead man Tyson. “Sunshine” is sort of a hidden track. It has a funky vibe to the guitars and vocals both. It also adds in some special string instruments during its short time with us. It’s a pretty cool track that will catch you off guard and trick you into liking it. Overall this is a pretty cool offering. It was a wide variety of tracks from soft and slow to power-pop tracks that are on the edge of becoming something else. They offer up some blistering guitars, pounding drums as well as some key, pianos and strings. There are a few track that can be skipped by they have a solid 9 or 10 tracks that fans will adore.
