Riding on the brink of extinction this Atlanta band decided to change their name and their style. With doing so they are got to keep their label and create their debut with the new name. StoneRider released their effort on Jan. 29th, 2008 via Trustkill Records. The band hits the streets with the new sound of blistering guitar solos, dynamic drums and slurring vocals. The album begins with a ridged “Rush Hour, Baby.” The track starts the album off with a bang. The soaring guitar leads the track with well woven vocals thrown into the mix. It will take you back to the great hair flying era of rock and roll. “Back From the Dead” also begins with a bang. The track offers up the same great high flying sound of the pervious, but with a different extremely different solo and a different lyrical content. “Rumble Down” has a heavy dosage of speedy guitar play witch will blow your mind. Their southern rock influence is very distinctive during the track. “Juice Man” will leave you wanting more. The high times and fast women that are mentioned in this track are the times of the 80’s rockers. This song will take you back to that time. “Wild Child” is a slower song, sort of similar to an Aerosmith track. Its easy to get into the groove of and it sticks to the brain. “Bad Lovin’” provides another heart stopping guitar solo and a quirky fun style. The next track takes us back to the Stadium/Arena Rock days with the “Hair of the Dog” and “Bite My Tongue” spices the album up with some fun sounding beats. StoneRider leaves us with “Shut My Mouth.” A track speaking about her “Pie.” With more of the gigantic guitars, the album end just as it started; with a huge bang! Overall this album takes us back to the 80’s rock. It focuses on outrages lyrics and bigger guitar solos. The influence of southern rock is also there. It’s a solid start to what could be. They take us back to a sound that we don’t hear much of now, except on a Sunday morning oldies radio show or folks still requesting their favorites on the dial. They are certainly worth a listen, but they need to step up their game and tweak it a little. The talent is there, especially in the guitar area. They just need some more time to grow and gel as a band.
