Silverchair
Young Modern
Daniel Johns - Guitar/Vocals
Ben Gillies - Drums
Chris Joannou - Bass
Silverchair’s latest release “Young Modern” is a silver medalist at best. The Aussi band is just
missing that special element this time around. There are many songs that are close to exploding, but the fuse just burns out.
It’s great for a band to experiment with their song, but they also need to stay with their roots. This album hit upon
many different sounds. They even try a little country with the song “Low.” They also use many sound effects that
distracted me from the juicy stuff. The album has many spots of musical talent and the lyrics are well thought out. The album
just needs that add spice that Prego doesn’t need. I will say this though; if someone can’t find at least one
track on this album that they like someone needs to pick a different genre to listen to, perhaps rap. This is at least one
song on this album for everyone.
