Jumping aboard the LP debut train Saving Abel is not and will not be left
behind. The Mississippi band, which landed a deal with the famous Virgin Record, has put their time
in over the past few years. The members all pulling double duty with working on their music careers and day jobs at the same
time aren’t short of effort. Their first attempt at a major label album shows their effort, talent, and passion. They
put it all out there on display for their fans to soak it all up like giant sponges. The self-titled debut album features
mind-blowing track, laid with killer lyrics and dynamic riffs and beats. The album begins with a high energy, blazing guitars
ear assault “New Tattoo.” The track starts the album off with a blast that keeps going for the entire trip. “Addicted,”
the first single off the album, explores a sexual trip. The innuendos planted throughout the track give the listener something
grab a hold and run with. “She Got Over Me” is an emotion filled song with caulked with get lyrics and superb
vocals. One of the tracks that was featured on their indie EP “18 Days” sits forth on this album. It is another
track that takes you on an emotional roller coaster. It’s perfectly recorded, scripted and written. “Drowning
(Face Down)” begins the middle section of the album. The song is talking about getting help out of situations because
they can’t get out of them their selves. “Around My Neck” kicks the album back in gear for the moment as
it’s a heavier track. “Sailed Away” goes back to the softer side of things. The track still packs a punch
with great vocals, a dramatic sound to the guitar solo and a spots of acoustic ability. “Out of My Face” is a
powerful track with demanding vocals and a riveting sound. “Running From You” has a middle of the road beat. It’s
faster than some of the songs, but slower that the rest. It really displays Jared’s voice. In “Beautiful You”
you can really hear the country sound in the vocals. It’s an upbeat track, but with the southern rock feel to it. Overall
this is a well made album. The effort of the band the past years has really paid off. They have created a sound that fits
them perfectly. It’s really going to be hard to ignore Saving Abel as addicting as their sound is. They will place out
a solid major label debut on root to something bigger. Many of the songs display radio potential and the live performance
is surly going to be appealing to a wide range of fans. I’d like to see them do more heavy stuff, but they have a solid
base and won’t be leaving anytime soon.
