Red, it’s just a color right? Wrong, it’s now more than just a color. With major tours and a successful
album under their belt, this young band lives and breaths music. Their debut album which hit stores back in June of 2006 hitting
radio stations throughout the U.S. has been re-released to the masses as a deluxe edition.
This edition includes the first release of the album plus a bonus song on disc 1 and a live set from Nashville, a couple videos, and a very nice photo slideshow on disc 2. The main album is
just unbelievable. From Michael’s soaring vocals to the amazing riff work, they are sure to hit a cord with many fans.
The intro is a nice touch to begin the album. The first track is the first single off the album “Breathe Into Me.”
this song shows the soaring vocals of Michael. It showcases this range from a great mellow sound to a scream that is straight
out of a gladiator war flick. “Let Go,” the third track is a great follow-up song which introduces the skill of
a mastermind musically genius, not to mention a great lyrical triumph. “Lost,” which is on disc 1 twice, is a
dramatic piece in both performances. “Break Me Down,” slows it down just a bit. It once again displays the powerfulness
of Michael’s vocals and the lyrics. Disc 2 is a full set from a show they did in Nashville.
The seven song set is incredible. I have had the privilege of seeing these guys play while on tour with 3 Days Grace and Breaking
Benjamin and the DVD placed me right back to that point, except this time I didn’t have a 6-5, 250+ Lb guy breathing
down my neck and spilling beer on me. The sound quality is great. You can hear Michael’s every word, while enjoying
the twin’s stage antics. The picture is also great. With all of the strobe lights going off one would think that it
would hurt the quality of the picture and make it hard to see some of the time, well those people are wrong. It rocks hard
and loud. The other stuff on the second disc is pretty good too. The photo slide is great. Most of the pictures you can see
the intensity of the guys in this still shots, great photos!!! The behind the scenes footage is very excellent, the music
video and blogs are intense. Overall this is a great album without the bonus stuff. I myself love the extras from any band
and it makes the album better to me. If I was doing the album only it would be an 8-8.5, but with all of the bonus material,
it can only go up in this case….Great job guys and keep up the great work.
