Puddle of Mudd comes screaming back with their third effort. The album, which hit stores the middle of 2007’s October, was delayed many times. After the wait between albums, then the extra wait from the delays had most fans begging for the release. “Famous,” which is not the first title that was chosen, leads of this dynamic album. Puddle goes at this album with a mixture of sounds and experiments. This album is different from the past 2 releases and it does take time to get use to. The album begins with an amazing song, “Famous.” This song is hit written all over it with great vocal, lyrics and music. The second track “Livin’ On Borrowed Time,” is a great follow-up song. It does display some of the experimenting, but perfects it. “Psycho,” the forth track, is in the footsteps of “Livin.” It has a sweet beginning that will stick with you. The rest of the album continues the experiments. Some of the songs are decent, but others you can skip over. I did notice that they repeat a lot in this album and that is one of my pet peeves in not to do, unless it fits perfectly. Overall this is an okay attempt at a third release. There are great songs in the beginning, but the end falls short except “Merry-Go-Round,” but it repeats a little too much for me.
