The multi-platinum artist P.O.D. will add another notch on their long careers. The band plans to release their next adventure on April 8th of 2008, which includes a reunion with guitarist Marcos. The band that has much success including 8 million total records sold, international sold-out concerts, chart topping hits and four #1 vidoes on TRL. “When Angels and Serpents Dance” begins with a hard rock track “Addicted.” The track features great guitar riffs and the old great POD sound. The vocals, like always, are great with glimpses “Alive.”  “Condescending” starts with a blast of guitar and drums followed by a nice solo, then Sonny coming in. The track should be a nice radio hit for the guys. The vocals are great with lead and backing woven in and out of one another. “It Can’t Rain Every Day” it a very versatile track, with a message of “keep going and good situations will find you soon.” The bluesy rock sound makes the track a possible fan favorite some time down the road. “Kalifor-eye-a” features Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies. The track is a harder track with great vocals. It also holds a sweet beat. The very next track, “I’ll Be Ready,” features the Melody Makers. “The End of the World” is another harder track from the boys. With great riffs, mixture of vocals and lyrics that are easy to follow, it should be another fan favorite. “God Forbid” is another song that has a featured guest, this time Page Hamilton of Helmet. With a metal heart pounding beat this will be a great live song, if it is installed into the set list. It’s a unique track that stands alone on the track listing of the album, as there is nothing even close to it sounds like it on the album. A very change of pace! “Roman Empire” has a wicked sweet riff, there are no words, just a music buffet on your ears. The title track finally makes its way to our ears at the 11th spot on the track. “When Angels and Serpents Dance” displays Sonny’s screaming ability and has an amazing guitar solo 2 minutes in that will leave you wanting more. It’s a very nice follow-up to the riff in “Roman Empire.” Overall this is an okay album. I don’t think that it’s the best that they have put out as a whole, but some songs will be able to hold their own amongst some of the best and immediately be placed into the set list for shows. Some of the tracks repeat too much for my liking. The addition of some other artist spices up the album a bit. It’s a solid effort from the experienced band.
