Nikki Sixx
The Heroin Diaries
Rating: 10 out of 10
We all know or should know a lot about the famous Bassist from Motley Crue. He hasn’t shied away from the spotlight
on this subject and The Heroin Diaries is not any different. This, tell all book will capture you and will not let you out
of the life of this shattered rock star. With such phases as: -“But alcohol, acid, and cocaine….they were all
affairs. When I met Heroin, it was true love,” “Your ego is not your amigo,” and “The struggle for
normality isn’t such a struggle,” it will open your eyes and make you impossible to set the book down. The diaries
are incredible. It was intense the entire way though and the suspense kept you reading and wondering how this all was possible.
Some of the things you read are hard to digest, just for the fact that one person can do so much destruction to himself and
others around him. Another great part of the book is how he was able to get his band mates and others to add comments throughout.
These comments help you figure out what really happened, how others felt about the situation and what Nikki himself thought.
Reading this book makes you feel so many ways. The writing is very vivid, so much so that you almost feel like you are there
(in his closet with him). The diaries really let you into Nikki’s deepest and darkest thoughts. Overall it is a perfect
10 out of 10 for me. It was amazing and very interesting. I recommend this book for everyone not just Motley Crue fans, or
just plan rock fans…..I mean everyone! At the very end of the book there is a bulleted list of what Nikki did after
he died. It shows how his life went and although not all great and a few relapses, he managed to keep clean. Now he places
his efforts into family, kids and his music.
