The verdict is in! The people have spoken and the album has surfaced. The great concept from Mudvayne let the people
choose the songs, but the band chose the version. The album, which is a release between albums to let the fans know that they
are still alive and well, hit stores on Nov. 27, 2007. The sixteen track album embarks on a concept that I hope grows at least
to some good bands. The album starts off with a live version of what could be considered the song that got them to the big
time. “Dig,” which was chosen from the Summer Sanitarium tour with Metallica, sets the crowd into a frenzy. The
demos show how the songs started and matured. It awesome to see and hear how a song has develops throughout the creative process.
Each track brings something to this album. Some of the other outstanding tracks on the album are: “Fall to Sleep,”
“Not Falling,” “-1,” and “Skrying.” The “Forget to Remember” acoustic version
is simply amazing. Some songs are not meant to see the acoustic light, but this is not one of them. Overall, like I said already,
this is a great concept, but for the right bands. Only a few bands can pull this off and Mudvayne is one of them. Just because
the album has “Live” and “Demo” on it, doesn’t mean they just through this together to score
some cash. This is for the fans, not the masses.
