Maybridge is a New Jersey based band that has been playing together for a little while and is creating a commotion in the competitive and cutting edge New Jersey music scene. Joe Reo of Hidden In Plain View/Max Cruise Entertainment said “…[one of] the most "ready" band[s] I came across...” this was said after the Break Show at the Pony on FEB 18. With their dedication and talent it won’t be long before they get a deal and go big. Their track “Forward” is a well balance, which is a common theme in their tracks, with great backing vocals. It begins with an acoustic sounding presence and then explodes while finishing the track with a unique sound. “Never Say Never,” a new track recorded by the band begins string and hard. The vocals flow end and out of the verses and choruses. They again demonstrate great group vocals. “When in Rome,” is also a newly recorded track. It sounds like a love story that would fit perfectly into a movie. It’s well mixed with very smooth transitions. Their “Between the Sheets” is a high energy assault on listener’s ears with cool guitars. What I believe to be their most outstanding track, “The Charlatan At Mile Square,” is a fast track with great music. It shows off the talent of the band to a “T” and it’s very easy to get into. Although it does is a low point around 2 ½ minute mark this is a possible single and a track that could take them somewhere. “Weakness” is an okay track that oozes live energy. I don’t see a lot of radio time for the track, but it should be a crowd pleaser at shows. “Big Dreams and Silver Screens” is an upbeat, fast track that is well put together. It offers smooth transitions and sweet guitar play. Overall the collection of tracks that Maybridge have recorded are fairly good. They can easily step up to the next level and start kicking some national ass, not just east coast anymore. Once they find the right deal for them watch out! Like Reo said, this band is “ready” to take the next step.
