Like many bands that have to overcome the success of their debut album, Maroon 5 hit the studios to develop an album
that wouldn’t cause a sophomore slump. With the new album now in stores it seems that they have pole-vaulted over that
famous slump and kept with the success of their debut. Frontman Adam Levine, said that listeners should expect this album
to be sexier and stronger and that’s exactly what they have been given. This album shows a different side of Maroon
5 lyrically, but they maintained their pop-rock sound. They offer an extremely catchy sound that one can’t help to get
stuck inside their help. Much of the album shows off the bands style of combining a soft coffee shop sounds with an upbeat
dance style. Much of the vocals are very clear and the music fits the lyrics well. Overall this album has surely helped Maroon
5 stay clear of the sophomore slump. It’s a very solid album, but has a few low points. A few songs repeat a bit too
much and another song the vocals distract you from the music. Those are my only complaints.
