After sitting on their album for quite awhile Luna Halo finally released their self-titled debut October 30th
of 2007. The band that is a high energy and very talented launched their assault on the world. They offer up an energetic
pop rock sound with a hint of some indie mixed in well. The album starts off with “Kings and Queens,” that sounds
like it would be great in a Hollywood high school movie. Its shows the high energy pop rock/indie
that should be spread throughout. “Untouchable” is another high energetic track that has nice hooks and soaring
vocals. “Medicated” follows suit with the guitars, while “I’m Alright” is a change of pace both
musically and vocally. “On Your Side,” is a slower song that in spots sounds like Queen to me, but that’s
not a bad thing. “The Fool,” begins pretty cool with nice guitar work then focuses more on the lyrics and vocals
more than the music. “Big Escape,” sounds like The Killers in spots, but its still a solid tune that makes a listener
embrace the band. “Falling Down” brings the album out of the rut they seemed to have found them selves in the
middle section of the album. It’s a great song that should make its way up the charts and find itself in the movies.
“English Boys,” goes back to the high energy pop rock that they started in the beginning. Overall this is an okay
album. In some of the songs they sound much like the others in the genre, but other tracks they seem to go outside the box
and have created something of their own. If they can continue to do that they will be a huge hit on the charts and with fans.
