Godsmack’s “IV”

This long awaited album from Boston area band hit stores on April 25th of 2006.  I myself couldn’t wait for the album and the song “Voodoo Too.”  Upon getting the CD I listen to it once, took some notes and listen to it again. I did this several times. I hate to say it, but I didn’t feel the old Godsmack vibe.  Yes the tribal sound was there in Voodoo Too which starts out sweet, but I didn’t feel it in the others. It sounded like they wanted to continue on the acoustic side after their pervious release of “The Other Side.”  The drums in most of the songs sounds like they were just thrown in for the hell of it.  This is a very disappointing album, as a fan and a critic.  The other three albums have that vibe to them that I was talking about, but this one lacks it, like I have said before. This one may be an album one has to listen to over and over so that it grows on you.
