In the past year Framing Hanley has went from decent under the radar group to national attention. The band released
the moment back in May 15th, 2007. The album is a very solid rock that
doesn’t over do anything. They keep many things simple although it doesn’t sound like it. “Home” offers
great roaring guitars and fantastic vocals. Nixon’s smooth voice sets everything off with the perfect tempo in the background.
“Built for Sin” displays their attention to detail in regards to Nixon’s vocals. It does however say the
title a bit too much. Other than that it’s a star performance. “Hear Me Now” also shows the detail in vocals
as well as some added screaming vocals in the back. That addition spices the song up just enough to propel in into another
level. “Slow Dance” displays some very cool guitar riffage during its three minutes of catchy fame. “23
Days”
is a great tune. The use of special effects adds that extra something which makes the song irresistible. They
also added in additional backing vocals throughout the track. “Count Me In” is a driven by a double bass and kept
going by dramatic vocals and lyrics. “Alone In This Bed” is a touching acoustic track with is moving lyrics and
deep meaning. “Wave Goodbye,” shows a more punkish side of the band. The upbeat track is laid with great guitars
and a bit of screaming. “The Fold” is an upbeat track that will surely be a smash hit at live shows. Overall this
album is very solid. The group will defiantly be going places, but first they need to group a bit more and unleash more of
their talent. They seemed to be a bit shy in jamming out and really rocking some of the time. When they do that watch out,
until then I’m placing them on the “Do Not Forget About” list.
