After a long wait Evanescence is back with a new attitude and a new Album. The follow-up to their multi-platinum Wind-up Records debut “The Open Door” is in stores now. Amy Lee the singer/songwriter with her deep powerful lyrics and phenomenal piano play captures the audience and holds them tight through a whirl-wind of emotion and music. Terry, John, Will, and Rocky provide an excellent addition to the breath taking voice of Lee.  During my discussion with fellow music lovers, friends, and family many of them talked about how they liked “Fallen” the debut album of Evanescence, but many also said that almost all the songs sounds the same. Well they don’t have to worry about that in “The Open Door.” Evanescence seemed to make it a point not to have people saying the same thing. In the new album Evanescence has added such things as strings and choir or several of the tracks. It provides the album with a classical yet hard exterior for the passionate and heart pounding lyrics to say dancing in your head.

“The Open Door” does exactly that. It has opened the door to more and exciting things to come for the band. The band plans to hit the road to fully promote for the album that should produce more Grammy wins for them. This is a must listen to album at least twice. Once to hear the music and enjoy all that is happening throughout it and the second time to look at it deeper. When I say deeper I mean to fully understand what Lee is saying and connect with her.
