Day Minus 7 is a Ft. Myers quintet that began as 2. Cliff
and Eddie began working together as young kids and into their teenage years. When Cliff moved to Cape Coral he meet Cody from
a friend and when Cody moved the band was born. The three piece band played local clubs throughout Florida. They decided to
add 2 more members so that Cliff could focus on singing and to have a bigger sound. Kit was in the right place at the right
time as he walked into a music store that Cliff worked at and starting playing a guitar. Mike kept showing up at gigs and
once they heard him play he became the final piece of the puzzle. The band started playing even more and as they meshed and
grew together they caught the eye of Red Rocket Eddie. He quickly got a long time producer to come in and help write their
EP. With the master copy just back in their hands and copies to purchase will be out soon the band has just begun to take
off. The EP opens with “Hate You,” a blast of tunes and serious vocals. I have always been told not to judge a
book by its cover and I have to say that I did do it in this case. After seeing the band photo if figured that you wouln’t
get to hear the vocals very well, but like I have been told, don’t judge a book by its cover. The vocal set is phenomial
and the way they have set and blended the backing vocals with the lead ones are nearly perfect. The music is solid too. they
have glimpses of some other bands mixed in to what they are playing and they mesh it well. The guitar solo is pretty good
as well as the drum play in the track. The second track “Alive” begins slow with the vocals leading the way. It’s
a slow groove that really sucks you in close. Cliffs vocals are absolutely stunning in the track as the flow so well as they
have a bit of a scream fading in the background. “All I Wanted” will simple blow you away. It’s a slower
track with a great streaming guitar throughout the track, great drums, and vocals that will leave you standing in your track
picking your jaw off the floor. The high note that Cliff hits is perfectly controlled and crisp. The guitar solo is awesome
and the backing vocals come together with the lead so perfectly is almost sick. This track will take them from the beginning
stages straight into the spotlight. If a label doesn’t sign them it will be a tragedy. “Never Free” ends
the EP with another great track. They have great gang and backing vocals including a nice scream or two to set them off. The
music is awesome and something anyone could get into. It is simple astounding the talent that these guys bring to the plate.
This is an absolutely amazing 4 track EP and its worth buying to have these for track. Each of them are great and you will
not be disappointed at all with any of them. It’s a must have so go and get it.
