Cinder Road, formerly “Plunge,” quit jumping in water and started driving down the road which could lead
to something big. The Maryland band which has an easy going sound to them, has release their debut album, under this name,
“Superhuman.” The album hit stores back in June of 2007 right around the time they hit the road with Idol contestant
Daughtry. The album has great potential and can stand with may others. The album is super catchy and it is hard not to enjoy
their offering to listeners. The album begins with that catchiness with “I’m So Sorry.” The track begins
with some nice guitar work, but quickly switches focus onto the vocals and lyrics. The riff can still be heard throughout
the song. “Back Home to you,” is a soft song with an incredible set of lyrics. This song will melt you soul into
a giant puddle. “Should’ve Known Better” is a good song and one of my favorite off the album, although it
opens with a series of music that seems familiar. The middle track, “Get In Get Out,” is the song that turned
me on to Cinder Road, the meaty middle to a great debut album. The title track on the album “Superhuman”
is an okay song. The vocals stand out the most to me, with a great mix of music and backing vocals. Overall this is a solid
debut from this newly named band. Cinder Road displays a great mix of sound and lyrics. “Superhuman” should give
Cinder Road more big tours, radio air play, and a
bigger fan base.
