Blue October releases a “Platinum Edition” of their hit album “Foiled For the Last Time.” The album covers a full 2 disc with 30 songs!!!! It offers something for everyone with a little of this and a little of that, including remixes. The first disc starts off with a unique “You Make Me Smile.” It, like most of the songs, are a bit strange sounding, but it seems to me a theme. The famous “Hate Me” is a solid center of the first disc. “Drilled a Wire Through My Cheek,” is a mini explosion by the band. It has very weird, but cool vocals and the music is excellent. I absolutely love the chorus. “Calling You,” is a superb track that has great lyrics. The end of disc 1 also includes to more songs called “X Amount of Words” but as two different remixes. Disc 2 features a live set of Blue October. The set includes many tracks that are on and not on disc 1. The disc is well produced with great sound, but it is hard to hear the vocals sometimes. “Let It Go,” is one of the best sounding tracks on disc 2 and “Hate Me” is always good.

Overall this is a pretty odd, but good 2 disc platinum edition. The quality of the live part could have been slightly better, but it has something for everyone. I think I’d go and buy it just for the fact that it has 30 songs on it, which is just incredible!

Rating:  7 out of 10

My favorite tracks:

Hate Me, Drilled A Wire Through My Cheek, Let It Go (Live), and Hate Me (Live)
